Boris Chakshiran (Boris Čakširan) – choreographer, artist, set designer, costume designer, theater director. He received his Master's degree as an artist and costume designer at the University of Arts in Belgrade. Trained in the UK and US. Today, Boris Chakshiran is the artistic director of ERGstatus Dance Theater, a creative and educational platform created in 1998 in Belgrade. Since 1996, he has been a guest tutor and choreographer at MASPA (Mateh Asher School for Performing Arts, one of Israel's finest contemporary dance schools, Kibbutz Haaton), Haifa University, Tel Aviv University of Arts, and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (The Rubin Academy of Music). In 1995-2000 he headed the Independent Projects Program at the International Contemporary Dance Festival in Bytom, Poland.
In1999-2002 Boris Chakshiran ran theater workshops in Parma, Naples, Cecina (Italy). As a costume designer and costume designer, he has worked in many large-scale projects in Serbia and abroad, on television and in theater. He worked as a costume designer in numerous film projects created in cooperation with Serbia, Italy, France, Germany and the USA. He's a winner of many international scholarship programs. He has numerous awards in the field of contemporary dance and costume design, including:

1994, 1996 – ULUPUDS Annual Award
1996 – Yugoslav Film Academy's Crystal Prism for Best Costume Design ("Deliberate Murder")
2000 – UBUS medallion of the Serbian Ballet Association
1991, 1994, 1995 – Annual TV Award for Best Costume Design for RTS (Radio TV Serbia)
1990 - The Valtrović Prize as artistic director of the play 'Wonderful Star' (Children's Theatre, Belgrade)

Founder and Member of IIAN – The International Inclusive Arts Network; Member of ASSITEJ, CEDEUM, ULUPUDS and UBUS in Serbia.

The results of Boris Chakshiran's work with youth from disadvantaged strata of society, people with disabilities, various marginalized groups, as well as his dance therapy work results have been presented at numerous conferences, universities and faculties, including the University of Durham (UK) and Kennedy Center (USA), Sadler's Wells Theatre and the Rambert Dance Company in London, at the University of Parma (Italy), the Conference on Violence and Adolescent Issues in Jerusalem.
