Yuliya Gonchar
Playwright, translator, participant and curator of international theater projects, new drama and avant-garde art activist in Ukraine.

She started writing in 2014 with her participation in Writing for Theater Lab. The texts of Yuliya can be attributed to the examples of a new drama – a drama trend where the author and characters communicate in modern language about contemporary problems. These are the texts that are as up-to-date as possible, very social and the ones that capture the reality as it is.
In 2015 Yuliya was selected from Ukraine as a Fellow in the ECC (European Theater Convention) project, during which she worked as a Playwright's Assistant at the Karlsruhe State Theater, Germany. Later Yuliya focuses on drama as a tool for constructing the structure of texts and performances and acts as an author and drama artist in international theater projects in Berlin (Maxim Gorky Theater), Kyiv & Stuttgart.

In 2017 she worked as a curator of international cooperation at the Week of Actual Play Festival. As a scholarship recipient from Ukraine, in 2017 she was invited to the International Theatertreffen festival in Berlin, Schiller Days Festival in Mannheim, etc. Currently, as a screenwriter, she is involved in the project 'How is Katya doing', a cinematic study about Ukrainian women and the nature of the representation of reality in art.
